Skjåk
tørkekjøtt AS is one of Norway's first commercial producers of tørkekjøtt (tur kā shett), or as it
is known in other countries Jerky or Biltong. Only the best and leanest raw products are used
to make a tasteful almost fat free protein rich product. Before drying, the meat is steeped in different
marinades, including herbs from local producers. Approximately 350 grams (12.25 oz) of first class beef
is used to make 100 grams (3.5 oz) of finished product. Best when small pieces are savored slowly along
with your favorite beverage. This is a healthy snack that can be enjoyed at any occasion. Tørkekjøtt
is also good hiking provision due to the low weight and high protein content.
